Hurumanu- My Investigation on climate change

My Investigation on climate change

    ACIDIFICATION

DEFINITION: when chemicals are added to the ocean that makes acid

    1. What is happening to the oceans?
    • One-third of the cadidioxide is getting trapped in the ocean.
    • The carbon is making the ocean acidified.

    2. What does this do to shellfish?
    •  make the shells cause too much carbon dioxide in the way
HOW DOES CLIMATE CHANGE CONTRIBUTE TO THE ACIDIFICATION OF OUR OCEANS? factories release chemicals that make acid and that rain same puts the chemicals in the water

DEFINITION: trees cut down to repurpose the land

    1. What are trees used for?
    wood
    most furniture
     fuel

HOW DOES DEFORESTATION AFFECT THE CLIMATE?

we breathe in oxygen and we breathe out carbon dioxide and trees do the opposite and carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas

    ICECAP MELT

    DEFINITION: antarctica will melt

1.If all the ice melted what would happen?
will be a lot more water and a lot less land

HOW DOES ICE CAP MELT AFFECT CLIMATE CHANGE? will be a lot more water and a lot less land

    Hurumanu- The Greenhouse Effect experiment

AIM: TO LOOK AT CLIMATE CHANGE AND THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT.

      THE GREENHOUSE GASES EXPLAINED.

      The Greenhouse Effect experiment

      Materials

      1. 2 plastic bottle
      2. 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda and Citric Acid
      3. 2 heat lamp
      4. 2 Thermometer
      5. 200 ml of water
      6. 1 rubber bung

      Procedure

      1. click 2 bottles and 2 lamps and two thermometers from the teacher
      2. set up bottles and lambs beside the PowerPoint on a flat surface
      3. pool 100 ml water and baking soda make centre one of the bottles and add just water into the second bottle
      4. record your findings from the thermometer and check every 5 minutes and put your findings in the table

      Findings: The Greenhouse Effect Data

      Minutes
      Bottle 1: Water
      Bottle 2: CO2 Gas
      52425
      102727
      152826

      Conclusion:
the temperature of the CO2 bottle res higher than the normal bottle the shows that CO2 heats up our atmosphere very fast
